Arsenal Gappers

Arsenal undertake a teaching program before placing them as coaches around the world.

Footprints has become involved in Limerick, Ireland supporting the regeneration of the local community which has been abandoned by the local authority. An amazing tale of neglect and the consequences upon a community.

Whatever your thoughts are re the Emerald Isle dismiss it now as this is a community which is being turned around by John Keyes a community officer from Arsenal Football Club. Footprints are amazed with what has been achieved and proud of our small contribution to a massive problem. Truly achieved.

An exciting addition to the program for the Foundation is our support of the Arsenal Football Club foundation who run a London and Limerick placement program for young adults up to the age of 25 who want to teach both football and life skills to less fortunate youngsters around the world.

Arsenal undertake a teaching program with the participants and then place them as Arsenal coaches around the world. Footprints have pioneered this program to support 6 coaches in South Africa on a 13 week rolling program for three years. The first coaches arrived in SA in early January 2014.

Footprints are one of three community partners on this alongside Arsenal and Limerick Regeneration who are supported by the JP McManus Foundation. The impact in Johannesburg and Cape Town is incredible but the benefit to the Limerick youngsters is literally the difference in some cases between life and death.
