A great start to the walks, on a beautiful sunny day at Newburn Bridge, walking the final leg of Hadrian’s Wall.
35 walkers, two dogs, a dodgy ankle (not me) and a pair of flip flops (also not me).
Started briskly, most of the pack keeping together and arrived at our lunch stop broadly intact. Enjoyed our sandwiches on the banks of the Tyne.
Another brisk start for the afternoon leg, walking to Wallsend. Passing a mixture of the closed shipyard at Swan Hunter and new housing development along the side of the Tyne and arriving at Segedunum Roman Fort two hours later.
A great walk – many thanks to Kevin Morrow and his team from Mears, Morrison, Home Group, and everyone else.
